Run Slick FAQ | Anti-Chafing & Anti-Friction Questions

Run Slick Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Run Slick—from everyday movement to race day.

Run Slick is a lightweight anti-friction roll-on designed to help reduce rubbing where skin, clothing, and gear repeatedly interact. Apply it before movement so friction does not get the chance to become discomfort.

About Run Slick

What is Run Slick?

Run Slick is a lightweight, fragrance-free anti-friction roll-on designed to help reduce rubbing during running, hiking, training, work, travel, and everyday movement.

It goes on clear, dries quickly, and creates a smooth, durable layer without the heavy or greasy feel of traditional balms and creams.

Is Run Slick the same as an anti-chafing balm?

Run Slick serves the same general purpose—helping prevent friction and chafing—but the experience is different.

Instead of a wax stick or thick cream, Run Slick uses a lightweight roll-on formula that spreads evenly, dries quickly, and leaves a smooth, non-greasy finish.

Who is Run Slick for?

Run Slick is for anyone who experiences repeated rubbing from skin, clothing, footwear, or gear.

It is used by runners, hikers, triathletes, walkers, cyclists, gym athletes, outdoor workers, travelers, and everyday movers.

You do not need to be an endurance athlete to use it. If it rubs, Run Slick on it.

How to Use Run Slick

Where should I apply Run Slick?

Apply a thin, even layer anywhere friction commonly develops, including:

  • Inner thighs

  • Underarms

  • Chest and nipples

  • Sports-bra lines

  • Waistbands

  • Heart-rate monitor straps

  • Neck and shoulder areas

  • Hydration-pack contact points

  • Feet and toes

  • Other areas where skin, clothing, or gear repeatedly rubs

For external use only.

When should I apply it?

Apply Run Slick before your run, hike, workout, shift, or other activity.

Preventing friction before it builds is much more comfortable than reacting after the skin has already become irritated.

How much should I use?

A thin, complete layer is normally enough. Roll the product across the entire area where rubbing occurs rather than applying only to one small point.

Allow it to dry for a few moments before putting clothing or gear over the area.

Should I apply Run Slick directly to my skin or clothing?

Apply Run Slick directly to clean, dry skin—not directly to clothing.

Let it dry briefly before clothing or gear touches the application area. Applying it directly to fabric, or dressing before it has dried, may leave marks.

Can I apply it after chafing has already started?

Run Slick is intended primarily to help prevent friction before irritation develops.

Do not apply it to broken, bleeding, severely irritated, or otherwise damaged skin. Allow the area to recover and seek medical guidance when appropriate.

Can I reapply it during an activity?

Yes. For unusually long events, water exposure, or especially high-friction conditions, reapply as needed.

Clean and dry the area when practical before reapplying.

Performance and Activities

How long does Run Slick last?

Run Slick is designed to remain effective through sweat, heat, humidity, and extended movement.

How long any application lasts depends on the activity, application area, clothing, weather, water exposure, and the amount of friction involved. Many athletes use it through long training sessions and endurance events without frequent reapplication.

For very long or unusually high-friction efforts, carry it with you and reapply as needed.

Is Run Slick sweat-resistant?

Yes. Run Slick was designed for movement in sweaty, hot, and humid conditions.

Sweat resistance does not mean every application will last indefinitely. Water exposure, toweling, clothing movement, and individual conditions may affect wear time.

Can I use Run Slick for running?

Yes. Run Slick was originally developed around the friction challenges experienced during running and endurance training.

Common running application areas include the inner thighs, underarms, chest, sports-bra lines, waistbands, feet, and hydration-pack contact points.

Can I use it for hiking or backpacking?

Yes. Run Slick can help where skin, socks, clothing, backpack straps, hip belts, and other gear create repeated contact.

Apply it before the hike to known hot spots and carry it for reapplication during long efforts.

Can I use it for triathlon?

Yes. Athletes use Run Slick around wetsuit contact areas, sports clothing, thighs, feet, and other friction points.

Water exposure and transitions may affect wear time, so test your preferred application method during training before using it on race day.

Can I use it on my feet?

Yes. Apply a thin layer to areas where your feet typically rub, such as toes, heels, sides of the feet, or other known hot spots.

Allow it to dry before putting on socks. Footwear fit, sock choice, moisture, terrain, and distance can also affect blister formation.

Is Run Slick only for sports?

No. Friction happens during everyday life too.

Run Slick can be used for walking, travel, long work shifts, uniforms, dresses, shorts, work gear, and other situations where repeated rubbing causes discomfort.

Clothing, Skin and Ingredients

Will Run Slick stain my clothes?

Run Slick is designed for application directly to the skin and dries to a clear finish without visible residue on the skin.

Apply a thin layer and allow it to dry before dressing. Applying it directly to fabric—or allowing clothing to contact the area before it dries—may leave marks. As with any personal-care product, test it with delicate or unfamiliar fabrics first.

Does Run Slick feel greasy or sticky?

No. Run Slick is formulated to feel lightweight and non-greasy.

It rolls on smoothly, spreads easily, and dries quickly so you are not left with the thick or sticky feeling associated with many traditional anti-chafing products.

Is Run Slick fragrance-free?

Yes. Run Slick is fragrance-free.

Is Run Slick vegan?

Yes. Run Slick is formulated without animal-derived ingredients.

What ingredients are in Run Slick?

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopherol.

Run Slick is paraben-free, gluten-free, coconut oil-free, phenoxyethanol-free, and does not contain methylchloroisothiazolinone—or MCI—or methylisothiazolinone—or MI.

Can I use Run Slick if I have sensitive skin?

Everyone’s skin and sensitivities are different. We provide the complete ingredient list so you can review it before use.

Test a small area first, especially if you have sensitive skin or known allergies. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Do not use it on broken or damaged skin.

Is Run Slick sunscreen?

No. Run Slick is an anti-friction product and does not provide sun protection.

Use an appropriate sunscreen separately whenever sun protection is needed.

Is Run Slick waterproof?

Run Slick is sweat- and water-resistant, but it is not described as permanently waterproof.

Swimming, prolonged water exposure, toweling, and repeated rubbing can reduce the amount of product remaining on the skin. Reapply when needed.
